Matt Cardona has finally responded after Nikki Bella dragged him into her war of words with Chelsea Green on WWE SmackDown.
During the October 9 edition of SmackDown, Nikki and Chelsea traded insults backstage while arguing over the WWE Women’s Championship. Things escalated quickly when Nikki told Chelsea that the title deserved “an upgrade” before taking things a step further by implying Cardona might want one too.
“You’re nothing but a bootleg Nikki Bella. And I think that WWE Women’s Championship deserves an upgrade to the real thing. I mean, ask your husband. I’m sure he wants one too.”
The line immediately got fans talking, especially since Cardona wasn’t involved in the segment at all. Not long after the promo aired, WWE shared the segment on Instagram, and Cardona couldn’t resist chiming in. Keeping it short and simple, he made it clear he couldn’t believe what Bella said.
“Excuse me?”
Whether Cardona was genuinely caught off guard or simply playing along with the storyline, his response didn’t take long to catch fans’ attention. With Nikki and Chelsea’s rivalry heating up, it also didn’t hurt that Cardona found a way to insert himself into the conversation without saying much at all.
