Mara Sadè’s time in TNA is over, but it doesn’t look like she’ll be sitting on the sidelines for very long. In fact, there already seems to be a growing belief inside TNA about where the former Knockout is headed next—and it isn’t necessarily where everyone expected.
According to PWInsider, several people within TNA believe Sadè is AEW-bound following her departure from the company. That’s despite WWE having interest in bringing back the former Jakara Jackson after her exit.
The report paints an interesting picture because, while WWE has apparently reached the point of discussing Sadè internally again, the feeling among multiple people still inside TNA is that she’ll end up signing with AEW instead. Before that happens, however, Sadè made sure she didn’t leave the company hanging.
Even though she was no longer under contract, PWInsider reports that she still traveled to TNA’s television tapings in Philadelphia to finish what she’d started. Her final appearance includes a Knockouts Television Championship Tournament match against Heather by Elegance, which is scheduled to air on the August 6 episode of TNA iMPACT.
The key detail is that she didn’t have to be there. Sadè was already a free agent. She could’ve walked away the moment her deal expired. Instead, she chose to wrap up her remaining storyline, a decision that reportedly didn’t go unnoticed backstage.
According to PWInsider, TNA officials were very happy with the way Sadè handled her departure and appreciated the professionalism she showed throughout the process. That professionalism may end up paying off quickly.
TNA officially confirmed this week that both Sadè and Jody Threat have left the promotion, bringing weeks of speculation to an end. But while TNA closed one chapter, the next one may already be taking shape.
Whether it’s WWE making another run at the former NXT star or AEW landing yet another recognizable name, it doesn’t sound like Mara Sadè is expected to stay a free agent for long.
