Mara Sadè isn’t just teasing an AEW move anymore — she has signed on the dotted line.
After her own website suddenly listed AEW as the latest stop in her career, new details have confirmed that the former Jakara Jackson agreed to a full-time deal with All Elite Wrestling and that contract was already in effect as of last week.
Fightful Select confirmed that Sadè agreed to terms with AEW after the company had been expecting her arrival for quite some time. Sources within AEW had indicated as far back as this summer that they believed she would eventually join the promotion, and now that move has been finalized.
Sadè had options before making the call. She held conversations with WWE after entering free agency and also had an offer on the table from TNA Wrestling, but she ultimately chose AEW instead.
That makes the move even more interesting considering her WWE history. Sadè previously wrestled there as Jakara Jackson before moving on, and there was enough interest for WWE to speak with her again once she became available.
TNA also wasn’t ready to simply let her walk without trying to keep her. Sadè finished out her remaining TNA obligations after leaving the company, including completing her run in the Knockouts TV Title tournament despite no longer being under contract.
That decision apparently left a strong impression backstage, but the writing was already starting to show on the wall. People within TNA had expected Sadè to end up with AEW, and her website update on September 21 made that possibility look even harder to ignore. Her updated biography directly name-dropped AEW alongside WWE and TNA while describing the next chapter of her career.
“Straight out of Duke City, New Mexico, Mara Sadé is a true modern-day renaissance woman whose career spans professional wrestling, acting, modeling, athletics, and visual art. From competing on The Titan Games with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and appearing in Vogue, to making her mark in WWE, TNA, and now AEW (All Elite Wrestling), Mara brings undeniable presence to every arena she enters.”
The biggest new detail, however, is the structure of the deal. Sadè’s AEW contract is said to be a full-time, salaried agreement, so this isn’t a short-term appearance or a situation where she’s just being brought in for a handful of dates.
AEW has still not rolled out an official signing announcement as of this writing, but the mystery around Sadè’s next destination is basically gone. She talked with WWE, had a chance to remain with TNA, and ultimately picked AEW with a full-time contract already active.
Now the only real question is how quickly AEW puts Mara Sadè on television and what kind of role they have waiting for her once she officially walks through the door.
