Ludwig Kaiser now has a clearer legal timeline as his misdemeanor battery case continues moving through the Florida court system — and despite the situation, WWE still does not appear to be slowing down his push.
New court records obtained by Ringside News show that a pre-trial conference in Kaiser’s case has officially been scheduled for the morning of July 16 in Orlando, Florida. The hearing will allow both sides to determine whether the case is heading toward a trial or if it could be resolved beforehand through some type of plea agreement. While nothing is finalized yet, documents tied to the case also mention a possible trial window running from August 10 through August 28.
Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, previously entered a not guilty plea after being charged with misdemeanor battery connected to an alleged April altercation at his Orlando apartment complex.
According to the allegations, the incident started after a resident accused Kaiser and a female companion of aggressively kissing inside an elevator and asked them to “please have some manners.” The alleged victim claims Kaiser then attacked him. Police later documented redness and scratches on the man’s head following the confrontation.
One additional detail from the court update involved Gunther. The fellow WWE star was listed in the filing because he served as the depositor for Kaiser’s $1,000 bond and was informed about the pre-trial conference date.
Despite the active criminal case, Kaiser has now officially been cleared to continue traveling both domestically and internationally after Florida prosecutors did not object to his legal team’s motion requesting travel privileges while the case remains ongoing.
That ruling is especially important because Kaiser is still heavily involved in WWE and AAA storylines. This Saturday, he is scheduled to compete as El Grande Americano in a mask vs. mask match against Chad Gable at AAA Noche de Los Grandes in Mexico.
The update also reinforces earlier reports that Kaiser does not currently have heat within WWE over the arrest. Internally, the company still expects him to continue appearing on television and fulfill upcoming bookings without interruption.
Questions still remain surrounding the case itself, especially after reports surfaced that some people inside WWE allegedly believed a defense narrative tied to ICE-related comments had been planted anonymously with wrestling media. Fightful Select stated several WWE sources did not believe that version of events and felt Kaiser should have simply removed himself from the situation instead of escalating it.
Even with those concerns floating around backstage, WWE and AAA both appear committed to continuing forward with Kaiser’s on-screen programs while the legal process plays out. The next major step now comes in July when both sides meet in court to determine whether this situation quietly gets resolved or moves closer toward a full trial later this summer.
