Lizzy Rain’s WWE entrance has already become one of the more unique presentations in NXT, and now she’s finally revealing how the entire theme came together behind the scenes.
After quickly making an impact on WWE television with her heavy metal-inspired character, Rain spoke with Ropes N Riffs and explained the process behind changing from her old entrance music to the WWE-produced theme she now uses in NXT.
Before joining WWE, Rain used the song “Rain” by The Cult as part of her presentation on the independent scene. Once she arrived in WWE, however, things changed fast as the company introduced her to a completely different approach.
During the interview, Rain explained that WWE sent her multiple music options before one specific guitar riff immediately stood out to her because it reminded her of Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher.”
“So, being a part of the WWE, we have all our own music in-house. Um, so I was sent loads of different songs. I went through them all, and as soon as I heard the guitar riff, I said this sounds like it’s got a vibe of ‘Hot for Teacher,’ and I love that song, and it feels like it’s really relatable, and lots of people like that song.”
Rain then revealed that WWE’s creative team helped shape the final presentation by suggesting she add a live-style promo introduction before walking to the ring — something that has already become part of her on-screen identity.
“Um, and then I thought, oh, over this guitar riff, one of the creative team said why don’t we do like a rock thing over the top of it, like live—you can say something before you come out—and I thought, that’s it, that’s got to be it.”
She made it clear she’s fully behind the final version of the presentation and likes the added personality the entrance gives her before matches.
“So, uh, I’m really happy with my theme song in the WWE. I love it. I love that I get to have a live little promo before I come out. Um, yeah, I think it’s really cool, and social media love it, too, which is all the more better.”
This gives more insight into how quickly WWE moved to define Rain’s character presentation after her arrival in NXT. Last week, Rain revealed that her television debut against Nikkita Lyons came together in just a matter of days after she received a surprise text during WrestleMania weekend informing her she would be filming an NXT vignette.
Despite the rushed timeline, Rain’s debut ended up leaving a strong impression as she defeated Lyons using her “Thunderstruck” finisher while leaning fully into the heavy metal persona that WWE now appears to be building around her.
