The man accused of stalking Liv Morgan may have avoided prison in federal court, but he is still not going anywhere on his own terms.

Shawn Chan, a Canadian man who traveled from Canada to the United States and went to Liv Morgan’s Florida home, is now being held in Florida by the Department of Homeland Security. Chan is currently in the process of being deported out of the United States.

That update comes after Chan was found not guilty by reason of insanity on a charge of interstate domestic violence. The charge stemmed from Chan traveling from Scarborough, Ontario to Florida, where authorities said he showed up at Morgan’s home before later being arrested at the WWE Performance Center.

Chan’s federal case ended without prison time, but the judge did not just cut him loose. After the ruling, Judge Mary S. Scriven ordered the U.S. Marshals Service to coordinate with ICE and release Chan into immigration custody. Now, Homeland Security has him.

Chan’s case got attention because of how disturbing the allegations were. Court records said he believed Liv Morgan was his girlfriend and that he had ties to pro wrestling figures who owed him credit for storyline ideas. Psychologists found Chan was so mentally ill that he could not understand the wrongfulness of what he was doing.

The incident began on May 31, 2025, when Chan went to Morgan’s Florida home while she was not there. Surveillance footage showed him looking for a key and trying to get inside. He stayed on the property for more than two hours and left behind a handwritten note calling the trip a “friendly visit,” along with his contact information.

Things got even more concerning when footage showed Chan picking up an air rifle pellet gun that had been left on the porch and trying the front door while holding it. Days later, he showed up at the WWE Performance Center while Morgan was there for an NXT taping. Security spotted him, and he was arrested.

So while Chan was not convicted in federal court because of the insanity ruling, the case is far from over for him. He is now in Homeland Security custody and is facing deportation back to Canada.

Do you think deportation is the right outcome in this Liv Morgan stalking case, or should there have been more restrictions placed on Shawn Chan? Let us know what you think in the comments.
