AEW has several stories going right now and the Inner Circle vs Pinnacle storyline is just getting started. Those two factions are still at odds with each other and they will throw down many more times to come. FTR is set to take on Santana and Ortiz on the next episode of Dynamite, a match that has been locked in since May.
Konnan spoke about AEW’s big plans for Proud n Powerful and the Lucha Bros. During a show on Ad Free Shows, Konnan called Santana and Ortiz like his “sons,” and they are about to go to war with FTR in a big way. Konnan then went on the ensure fans that there is a lot to come.
“There are a couple guys in this business I consider my Lucha sons like them (Santana and Ortiz), Pentagon, and Phoenix. Let me just put it to you this way. There’s still more to be seen in the FTR-Santana/Ortiz-Tully/Konnan thing. Just stay tuned.”
Tony Khan likes to make a storyline stretch for as long as he can. Obviously, all of the teams involved have a lot to give and there are many possibilities. AEW will continue to explore those possibilities right now as they prepare for their next phase, one that is about to get a big boost in the months to come.
