Keith Lee disappeared from wrestling and nearly disappeared from social media with it. Now, after almost a year without a post, he has suddenly resurfaced alongside Darius J. Wright, and fans are already throwing around one very serious word: “cult.”
Lee appeared in a September 11 tweet sitting with Wright, a man who describes himself as a consciousness explorer known for fully conscious out-of-body experiences and investigating what he calls non-physical reality. It was already an unexpected way for Lee to break his lengthy social media silence, but then wrestling fans started looking into Wright.
That’s where things took another turn. One fan responded directly to Lee and claimed he had joined a cult, pointing specifically to the money attached to Wright’s teachings.
“You joined a cult my guy. The site you’re promoting asks for money in order put faith in the ‘shared beliefs’. This is no different then those televangelists asking for ‘seed money’ back in the day. I hope you get proper help man ik life ain’t easy rn but this ain’t it.”
Another fan found Wright’s website, posted screenshots and came to the same conclusion in considerably fewer words.

Calling Wright’s organization a cult is the fans’ characterization, not an established fact. Lee also hasn’t said that he has joined any organization. Still, the material people found on Wright’s website helps explain why his appearance with Lee immediately made fans suspicious.
Wright’s “The Great Work” offers what it calls different paths into its mission. “Path 1 of Awakening” comes with a $300 contribution and includes AYDA Method teachings and live gatherings designed around learning how awareness may move beyond the physical body.
For $500, followers can access both Path 1 and “Path 2 of Knowledge,” along with a complete library. The site says those teachings go deeper into “the structure of reality,” different realms, records, the origins of what it calls “this construct,” the physical body and “remembrance.”
The website doesn’t describe those payments as traditional purchases. Instead, it says people who feel “called to support the mission” can make voluntary contributions, with entry into its private mission space and access to teachings offered as a thank-you gift.
It also makes clear what Wright believes he is offering. In an FAQ discussing whether the program is religious or spiritual, the site describes his teachings as a spiritual path grounded in faith but not connected to a religion, with the purpose of helping people “remember who you are, where you came from, and the place you know as home.” That doesn’t establish the cult claims being made by fans, but it is the material they are reacting to.
The whole thing lands at a strange time for Lee. He hasn’t wrestled since December 2023, and Bryan Alvarez recently said the belief among people he has spoken with in the wrestling business is that Lee may not just be finished with AEW, but effectively retired from wrestling. His personal life has changed during that absence as well, with Michin revealing in July that she and Lee had divorced.
For almost a year, Lee gave fans virtually nothing to work with. Then he finally came back online sitting next to Darius J. Wright, and instead of people asking when “Limitless” will be back in an AEW ring, they’re digging through $300 spiritual courses, $500 “Great Work” packages and asking whether he has joined a cult. That’s probably not the Keith Lee update anyone expected.
