Jonathan Coachman Accuses WWE of Dropping the Ball on Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker walked out of RAW with the WWE World Tag Team Titles, but Jonathan Coachman doesn’t think that means WWE did him any favors.

While speaking on Two Count Tuesday, JD said The Vision winning the titles made sense for the Maxxine Dupri and Austin Theory story, but he still felt Bron was the one who got hurt most by the whole thing. To him, Breakker should be the focus of the group, not stuck feeling like another piece in a tag-team angle.

“I’m disappointed because it should all be about Bron Breakker, and Bron Breakker should be the guy that they rehabilitate and build up because right now he’s cold. He’s ice cold. Oba and his resurgence on Monday Night Raw has just absolutely overtaken Bron Breakker. And for some reason this company can’t book two young studs at the same time. And I don’t really understand that.”

JD liked the finish itself. Logan Paul bringing in brass knuckles, Austin Theory having a second pair, and Maxxine jumping in with the low blow on Angelo Dawkins all worked for him. His issue was what it meant for Breakker after the dust settled. He said Bron should be paired with Paul Heyman as the real centerpiece, while the rest of The Vision moves in another direction.

“But Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman should be a thing. They should be advocate and client. And I feel like the rest of the group should go on and do what they need to do. Now, I said last night on my RAW review, Bronson Reed should be coming back any week now. Bring Bronson Reed back. Keep the group without Paul Heyman. Have Bron Breakker go on a babyface run and keep him with Paul Heyman and have him feud with some of the guys in the division and then move him up. I don’t know why they didn’t do that last night, but here we are.”

Jonathan Coachman agreed, and he put it even more bluntly. He said WWE putting Bron back into a tag team is hurting the exact thing they should be protecting: his singles star power.

“Well, and I think the Logan Paul situation is throwing a kink into the works. Bron Breakker, for whatever reason—they did it with Jey Uso and they’re doing it with Bron Breakker—when you throw somebody back into a tag team, you are lessening their singles cache, you’re lessening his star power.”

That’s where Coach really started questioning WWE’s priorities. Breakker lost to Seth Rollins inside a cage at Night of Champions, and Coach didn’t see the point of using Bron that way just to heat up Seth for Roman Reigns.

“So, you beat him, for whatever reason, by Seth Rollins in a cage match at Night of Champions so you can build up Seth Rollins to challenge Roman Reigns. What does that do for the guy who’s going to be here for the next 15 freaking years when Seth Rollins is 42 and he’s going to be on the NFL Network for the next 15 freaking years? I would have reversed that.”

Coach did give WWE credit for one part of the RAW angle. He liked Maxxine Dupri being added to the group because he believes The Vision needed a female presence, and she fits the role. Still, that didn’t change his bigger problem. Coach said WWE has a future top star in Breakker and is fumbling him right now.

“Now you’ve got him in a tag team with Austin Theory. The only thing I liked about last night is the fact that I’ve been saying for months, if you’re going to do it, you need a female and she fits the part. She looks the part. She fits the part. So if they’re going to keep them together, I like having Maxxine. But I agree with you. The only thing I agree with you on is that Bron Breakker, you’re dropping the ball on a super duper star. Period.”

The criticism came after the July 6 episode of WWE RAW opened with The Vision beating The Street Profits to win the WWE World Tag Team Titles. Paul Heyman had warned the group before the match that they needed to bring the titles back, and Maxxine ended up being the difference when she hit Angelo Dawkins with a low blow before celebrating with Austin Theory.

That gave The Vision the titles and a new wrinkle with Maxxine, but Coachman’s problem is that Breakker still feels like he is waiting for WWE to treat him like the monster singles star he was supposed to become. Winning gold should feel like a step forward, but for Bron, Coach thinks WWE may have just made him feel smaller.
