John Cena has another WWE appearance lined up as the company prepares for the John Cena Classic in December. The retired 17-time World Champion already has several appearances planned, but WWE has apparently added another major event to his schedule.

According to Fightful Select, Cena was penciled in to appear at WWE Survivor Series in Houston as of showtime on November 2. The storyline reason for his appearance would be to continue scouting talent for the upcoming John Cena Classic.

Cena is already making appearances on RAW as WWE builds toward the tournament. His involvement isn’t expected to include a return to in-ring competition, but he’s still playing a role in putting together the event.

The John Cena Classic is currently planned for December 14 at Walt Disney World, according to WWE’s internal documents. The tournament is expected to take place during a special episode of Monday Night RAW, with Cena also set to introduce a championship for the competition.

The December 14 plans are a change from earlier speculation that WWE could hold the tournament on December 19, potentially going head-to-head with AEW Worlds End. As for Survivor Series, Cena’s appearance is still listed as a planned appearance rather than a confirmed announcement. WWE could always make changes before the event.

Cena may be finished wrestling, but WWE clearly isn’t finished using him on television. With Survivor Series now part of the plans, the company appears to be giving him another opportunity to build interest in the John Cena Classic before December arrives.
