Joe Hendry’s latest NXT appearance looked like a clear farewell moment, and during a breakdown on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was made clear that his move to WWE RAW was already in motion.

The discussion came while reviewing the match that effectively ended Hendry’s run on NXT television. Bryan Alvarez described how the segment played out and how decisively Hendry was handled during the loss.

“Yes. Yes. Yeah, we had Joe Hendry, Keanu Carver, and Keanu killed this dude dead. And that's the end of Joe Hendry.”

That dominant defeat raised immediate questions about Hendry’s future, but Dave Meltzer clarified that the outcome wasn’t random booking — it was tied directly to his already announced move.

“Well, we already know because they already announced him for Raw next week. Yeah, and they announced him as a signing for Raw, so this was his.”

The nature of the loss itself made the intention even clearer. Alvarez pointed out that WWE didn’t protect Hendry on his way out, delivering a brutal sendoff that signaled the end of his NXT chapter.

“They had no problem beating that guy to death on the way out.”

Meltzer confirmed that interpretation during the conversation, reinforcing that the loss was deliberate and meant to close the door on his time in NXT.

“No, they didn't. No, they didn't.”

WWE has followed this same formula for years — a decisive loss, followed by a brand shift — and Hendry’s situation matches that pattern almost perfectly. With his RAW call up seemingly already announced, attention now turns to how WWE plans to position him on the bigger stage.
