Jade Cargill isn’t hiding how she feels after dropping the WWE Women’s Championship — and she’s already breaking down what went wrong.

After losing to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Cargill spoke with Adrian Hernandez and gave a more honest look at the defeat — one that goes beyond her initial social media response. Before getting into the technical side of the match, Cargill admitted the loss still bothers her, making it clear she felt caught off guard in a moment that should have been hers.

“Um, you know, I—I’m upset about the loss, but again, I think I got blindsided. I think my eyes—well, like the light got too bright, and I got beside myself when I should have just really went for the kill and was playing with my food.”

She didn’t just focus on the mistake. Cargill also reflected on the overall performance, saying that despite the outcome, she believes both she and Ripley delivered when it mattered most. From her perspective, the match still hit the mark in terms of execution and impact, even if the ending didn’t go her way.

“Um, I think we delivered. I think we did what had to be done. I think we hit the button at the end of the match, and I think we took it home.”

So, Cargill isn’t brushing off the loss, but she’s owning her role in it. Between admitting she got “blindsided” and pointing to a key moment where she lost focus, she’s already looking at what she could’ve done differently while still standing by the match itself.

Do you think Jade Cargill cost herself the win at WrestleMania 42, or was Rhea Ripley always going to take that title? Let us know your thoughts.
