Jack Cartwheel finally has some good news after a brutal-looking arm injury. The WWE AAA star says he will not need surgery as he continues recovering from the elbow injury he suffered earlier this year.
Cartwheel was injured during his match against Galeno Del Mal at GCW Gringo Locos’ The Wrld On Lucha event on April 17. The injury forced the match to be stopped early after his elbow was hurt badly during the bout.
Speaking on PEP TALK? PEP TALKS!, Cartwheel said the injury looked rough on X-rays, but his recovery has gone better than he first expected.
“It has been better than I thought it would be. If I showed you the X-rays – at some point I’ll release the X-rays, I haven’t yet – my forearm was just not where it’s supposed to be.”
Cartwheel said the X-rays looked wild enough that someone might assume he would be out for six to eight months. Thankfully, that does not appear to be the case.
“The X-rays looked insane, so you’d think I’d be out for six months, eight months, something like that, but I’ve been very lucky to not need surgery on the dislocated elbow.”
He also explained that he is still dealing with torn tendons and ligaments, but the big takeaway is that surgery is off the table. Cartwheel said he is gaining more range of motion as the recovery continues and that his brace is being adjusted little by little.
“I have some tendons torn, I have some ligaments torn, but the great news is that I don’t need surgery. I don’t know exactly when I’m coming back yet, but I know I’m not going to be out for six months. I know it’s going to be less than that.”
“That’s just great news. I’m getting a little more degrees every day. Every week I’m supposed to get one more latch further.”
Cartwheel was one of the first names announced for WWE ID back in November 2024. He later revealed in late May that he is now fully signed to WWE’s AAA brand and is no longer affiliated with WWE ID.
Before the injury, Cartwheel had already been featured under WWE-managed AAA. He most recently competed against Dragon Lee, TJ Perkins, and then-champion Laredo Kid for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship on the March 28 Rey De Reyes special episode of AAA on FOX.
There is no exact return date yet, but this update is a strong sign that Jack Cartwheel’s time away may not be as long as originally feared. Once he is cleared, WWE AAA could have a flashy high-flyer ready to jump right back into the mix.
