Andrade El Idolo’s latest mystery woman didn’t stay a mystery for very long, and unsurprisingly, she turned out to be an independent wrestler.
Just days after social media identified the four women who accompanied Andrade to the ring at AEW Redemption, El Idolo gave fans another mystery to solve during the July 29 edition of AEW Dynamite. This time, it happened in the middle of his AEW National Championship defense against Jack Perry and Nick Wayne, when an unidentified woman walked up to Andrade at ringside and snapped a selfie with the champion before disappearing from the broadcast.
AEW never acknowledged who she was, but that hardly mattered. Within hours of Dynamite going off the air, independent wrestler Georgia South revealed she was the woman from the segment, uploading the selfie to her Instagram story.
Georgia South has competed for several independent promotions, including Buckeye Championship Wrestling, UW Divine and IWC, becoming the latest name to join what’s quietly turning into one of AEW’s strangest recurring traditions.
If this all feels familiar, that’s because fans have been playing this game for months. Last week alone, Andrade walked into AEW Redemption with four unidentified women before defeating Mark Davis to become the inaugural AEW National Champion. It didn’t take long for fans to identify them as independent wrestlers Dreya Mitchell, Tara Zep, Katrina Creed and Kristara, extending a trend that’s become almost impossible to ignore.
Before that, Ava Everett revealed she was the mystery woman who appeared in Andrade’s post-match selfie on Dynamite, while Rachel Ley, Emily Jaye, Amaris Blair, Tiara James, Vile, Selena Hekate, Rebel Kel and Johnnie Robbie have all found themselves at the center of the same internet detective work after making appearances alongside El Idolo.
At this point, Andrade doesn’t even need an introduction for the people standing beside him. All he has to do is put someone on camera for a few seconds, and wrestling fans immediately race to find out exactly who they are. So far, they haven’t missed once.
