A mystery woman popping up during ZARIA vs. Izzi Dame at NXT Halloween Havoc immediately had fans wondering who WWE was teasing. Now that mystery has been cleared up, and it’s somebody with a pretty damn recognizable wrestling family connection.
The woman shown during the match was Kenzie, who is also known as Marie Malenko, the daughter of wrestling legend Dean Malenko. She is currently developing at the WWE Performance Center after joining the company earlier this year.
Kenzie’s appearance came during the non-title match between NXT Women’s North American Champion ZARIA and Izzi Dame. Dame ultimately pulled off the win after bringing ZARIA’s championship into the ring and later catching her with a running knee.
Kenzie has already gone through a couple of changes since arriving in WWE. When she was introduced back in May, WWE presented her under the name Lacey Simon, but that identity didn’t last particularly long.
By August, it was reported that WWE had changed her name to Kenzie. That made it her second WWE identity before her developmental run had really gotten going, and now fans finally got a glimpse of her on an actual NXT broadcast.
She also didn’t arrive at the Performance Center completely green. Before signing with WWE, Malenko had already gained wrestling experience and competed for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan after attending a WWE tryout earlier in 2026.
Of course, there’s also the family connection. Her father, Dean Malenko, built his reputation as one of the most respected technical wrestlers of his generation and currently works behind the scenes with AEW, while his daughter is now trying to carve out her own path inside WWE.
There’s no word yet on exactly what WWE has planned for Kenzie following her Halloween Havoc appearance, but putting her on camera during a featured women’s match certainly gives fans a reason to remember the name. After spending the past several months getting settled into WWE’s developmental system, Halloween Havoc may have been the first little taste of how the company plans to bring her into the NXT picture.
