Grayson Waller didn’t need a microphone or a television segment to start talking trash after the September 8 edition of WWE NXT. Wrestling content creator Fatherless found that out firsthand when an exchange with Waller quickly turned into a brutal roast about diabetes, social media followers and Chick-fil-A.
Fatherless uploaded the interaction to Instagram following NXT, showing himself telling Waller that he was going to get his “ass beat.” Waller immediately fired back, first taking a shot at his appearance before asking exactly who was supposed to beat him.
“I can smell the diabetes on you, big fella. You calm down, okay? Who’s gonna beat me?”
Waller then brought Saquon Shugars into it. Rather than showing any concern about Shugars potentially coming after him, Waller claimed the NXT star was exhausted and then turned his attention right back to Fatherless by mocking his social media following.
“Saquon? He was gassed. He was so tired. I don’t get tired. You don’t have any followers. No one’s watching this.”
Fatherless tried to return fire by comparing Waller to Mason Rook and joking that the two should go to Chick-fil-A together. Waller wasn’t letting him escape that easily, especially after Fatherless insisted he didn’t even like the restaurant.
“I think you love Chick-fil-A. You’re the only guy to get Chick-fil-A on a Sunday. You got connections.”
The whole thing came after Rook, Tony D’Angelo and Shugars had a big night on the September 8 episode of NXT. The three defeated EK Prosper, Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver in the six-man tag team main event, earning themselves spots in a No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match next week.
Rook ultimately stole the pin after tagging himself in while D’Angelo appeared to have Prosper beaten. That teamwork won’t matter much on September 15, when Rook, D’Angelo and Shugars face each other with an opportunity at the NXT Championship on the line.
Waller, meanwhile, managed to turn a simple post-show interaction into another promo without even trying very hard. Fatherless warned him about getting his ass beat, and a few seconds later he was defending his Chick-fil-A preferences while Waller questioned whether anyone was watching.
