Support continues to grow for the fundraiser created to bring wrestling fan Marc Izard home after his passing during WrestleMania weekend, and several notable names have stepped in to help.
Izard passed away earlier this month while attending WWE WrestleMania festivities in Las Vegas. Family and friends quickly launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of returning him to the United Kingdom and handling funeral services.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised €16,235 — roughly $19,000 USD — toward its €30,000 goal. The steady climb in donations shows how quickly support has come in from both fans and members of the wrestling industry.
Several well-known wrestling figures are listed among the donors. Chris Jericho contributed €1,100 to the campaign, while NJPW talent Gabe Kidd — listed under his real name Gabe McMenamin — donated €1,000. WWE Superstar Natalya Neidhart also added €258 to help the cause.
The message shared on the fundraiser page highlights how much wrestling meant to Izard and thanks supporters who have rallied behind his family during this difficult time.
“Marc traveled the world for wrestling. Now, we just want to bring him home one last time. Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. The Izard family & friends.”
Organizers also noted that any funds remaining after expenses will be donated in Izard’s memory to charities he supported, including Diabetes UK, Addenbrooke’s Hospital Charitable Trust, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The continued support shows just how tight-knit the wrestling community can be when fans and performers come together to help someone in need.
