A former member of one of WWE’s most memorable factions is officially preparing to step away from the ring.
Michael Tarver is currently being advertised by Extreme Fight World for what is being promoted as his retirement match on Saturday, May 23. Tarver is scheduled to face Kno at the event, which will stream on Triller Pay-Per-View.
Extreme Fight World heavily promoted the show this week while pushing the idea that the event will be something people will be talking about afterward, adding even more attention to Tarver’s final appearance.
Tarver is best remembered by WWE audiences for being part of The Nexus during the group’s explosive debut in 2010. Alongside Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, David Otunga, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, and Daniel Bryan, The Nexus quickly became one of the biggest storylines in WWE after invading Raw and destroying ringside equipment, announcers, and top stars.
After his WWE release in June 2011, Tarver continued wrestling across the independent scene and later found success in the NWA. During that run, he became a two-time NWA FUW Heavyweight Champion and also captured the CWE Heavyweight Championship twice.
Tarver’s wrestling appearances slowed down significantly in recent years. His last recorded match took place in 2021, while his final consistent full-time run ended around 2019. Now, it appears the former Nexus member is preparing to officially close the book on his in-ring career after more than a decade in professional wrestling.
