Dominik Mysterio had Liv Morgan waiting for him after one of the roughest nights of his career. New footage from after TripleManía 34 Night Two shows Morgan consoling a visibly devastated Dominik as the two slowly made their way to the back following his AAA Mega Championship loss.
The footage captured the aftermath once the match itself was already over. Morgan stayed alongside Dominik as they walked out together, with both looking dejected over how his championship reign had ended.
Dominik especially looked crushed. That reaction makes plenty of sense considering it wasn’t simply El Grande Americano who took the championship away from him. Dominik’s own father, Rey Mysterio, personally counted the three that ended his reign.
The No DQ match had already descended into complete chaos by then. JD McDonagh, Rayo and Bravo Americano, Omos and Morgan all became involved as Dominik desperately tried to leave TripleManía with his championship.
Morgan even knocked Americano from the top rope late in the match, giving Dominik an opening to hit a 619 and frog splash. Americano survived, and things only got worse for Dominik from there. After the referee went down, Dominik used the AAA Mega Championship as a weapon and attempted another frog splash. Americano moved before eventually connecting with a running headbutt, but there was nobody available to make the count.
That problem disappeared when Rey came running down in a referee shirt and neck brace. Rey slid into the ring and counted his own son’s shoulders down, officially handing the AAA Mega Championship to Americano.
Dominik was left without his title, and the post-show footage showed just how hard that moment hit once he was making the walk backstage. Morgan had spent the match doing everything she could to help Dominik keep the championship. When that failed, all she could do was stay by his side while he dealt with the loss.
