Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair may finally be heading toward their first singles match, and it’s expected to go down at SummerSlam.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE has internally discussed a first-time showdown between Cargill and Flair for SummerSlam. The match was also penciled in for the event at one stage of the planning process.

WWE creative has been waiting for the right time to present the match, and those familiar with the situation believe SummerSlam could be the ideal stage for it. There is also said to be a growing feeling behind the scenes that now may be the right time to move forward with Cargill vs. Flair.

The timing makes sense, as Cargill and Flair’s issues have continued since Clash in Italy. Flair got involved during Jade Cargill’s Women’s Championship match against Rhea Ripley, helping protect Ripley from B-Fab and Michin before later putting Ripley’s foot on the rope to stop Cargill from winning.

The tension carried over to the June 5 episode of SmackDown, where Cargill and Michin defeated Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. That kept the rivalry alive and may have pushed WWE closer to finally booking the singles match.

If WWE makes it official, Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair would mark their first one-on-one match and one of the biggest women’s division bouts on the SummerSlam card. With SummerSlam 2026 set for August 1 and August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, WWE may have the perfect stage for the clash.
