Triple H tried to build hype for Asuka vs. IYO SKY at WWE Backlash, but fans had something else in mind, and it all ties back to Kairi Sane’s release.

After the April 27 episode of WWE Raw saw WWE officially set up IYO SKY vs. Asuka for Backlash, Triple H took to Twitter to promote the match and push it as something fans shouldn’t miss. In his post, he framed the match as a showcase between two of the best in the world.

“Two of the best. Prepare to see something special. @Iyo_SkyWWE and @WWEAsuka will face each other in less than two weeks at #WWEBacklash.”

But instead of focusing on the match, fans immediately flooded the replies with one message, Kairi Sane. The backlash was instant, with fans using the moment to demand her return and call out WWE for cutting her before the storyline could be completed: “#WeWantKairi TELL THE STORY!!”

Others made it clear they weren’t interested in the match as it currently stands without Sane being part of it: “This match is pointless without kairi. Youve ruined the story #WeWantKairi.” Some fans went even further, directly calling on WWE to reverse course and bring her back: “You know what would be special? Rehiring Kairi Sane #WeWantKairi.” Another response took aim at how the situation was handled altogether, suggesting the entire storyline has already been compromised.

“1. This deserved to be at WrestleMania. 2. Pick up the phone and apologize to Kairi. NOW. #WeWantKAIRI”

This reaction didn’t come out of nowhere. Earlier in the night during RAW, fans inside the arena were already chanting “We Want Kairi” during IYO SKY’s match with Becky Lynch, showing that the frustration isn’t just limited to social media.

Now, with WWE moving forward with Iyo vs Asuka at Backlash, fans are making it clear they’re not ready to move on, and they’re using every platform to keep that message front and center. Triple H tried to sell a major match, but fans turned it into something else entirely and right now, that message is louder than anything WWE is promoting.

Do you think WWE will bring Kairi Sane back to finish the story, or is it time to move on from the situation? Let us know your thoughts and feedback.
