Val Venis just jumped into the Michelle Obama controversy, and he definitely did not take Titus O’Neil’s side, as he also called Michelle Obama a man.
This whole thing started after UFC fighter Josh Hokit knocked out Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 and then used his post-fight moment to take a shot at Michelle Obama by calling her a man. Dana White wanted no part of it, and Titus later went off on Instagram, defending Michelle and saying the issue was about basic decency.
Then Val Venis entered the chat. Venis took to Twitter and responded to a video that showed Barack Obama allegedly referring to Michelle Obama as “Michael” during a past appearance. Venis used that clip to repeat the claim that has floated around online for years.
“Barack Obama is married to a man.”
While Titus was praising Michelle Obama as a “first class human being,” Venis went in the complete opposite direction. For the record, Venis did not provide evidence to support the claim. Similar rumors about Michelle Obama have circulated online for years and have never been substantiated.
Still, the timing is what makes this messy. Titus had just blasted the kind of rhetoric aimed at Michelle, saying hatred and bigotry do not unite anyone. Dana White also distanced himself from Hokit’s comments, reportedly calling that kind of talk “nasty and false.”
Bottom line, Hokit’s post-fight remark already had people talking, but Val Venis just dragged the controversy even deeper into the wrestling world. Titus defended Michelle Obama. Venis took the other road. And now the whole thing is turning into a full-on social media war.
