Josh Hokit won his fight at UFC Freedom 250, then immediately became the story for something Dana White wanted no part of.

Hokit walked out for his fight against Derrick Lewis using a remix of Hulk Hogan’s “Real American” theme, while wearing red, white, and blue at the White House event. With WWE and TKO names all over the night, the pro wrestling influence was obvious. Then Hokit backed it up in the cage, knocking out Derrick Lewis in the second round.

After the fight, Hokit grabbed the mic and cut a pro wrestling-style promo. That is when he called Michelle Obama a man, turning his White House win into a controversy.

Dana White addressed the comment in a statement to TIME and made it clear he was not defending what Hokit said.

“I understand that the Obama’s are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families…Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense.”

This was not the first time Hokit made that kind of remark. He also called Brittney Griner a man after winning at UFC 324.

UFC Freedom 250 already had major WWE crossover energy. Roman Reigns was at the event, Triple H was shown at ringside, Nick Khan was spotted, and Shane McMahon was also in attendance. Hokit leaned into that atmosphere with the Hogan-style entrance, but his post-fight Michelle Obama comment is what Dana White had to answer for afterward.

Hokit got the knockout, got the viral moment, and got Dana White publicly saying his comment was “nasty and false.”
