Former WWE star Gable Steveson is not being treated like some nervous UFC newcomer heading into tonight’s fight. Oddsmakers have installed the Olympic gold medalist as an overwhelming favorite to steamroll Elisha Ellison on the UFC 329 card headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway.

Steveson enters the heavyweight bout as a massive -1750 favorite at BetOnline.ag, while Elisha Ellison comes back at +900. The sportsbook is also heavily leaning toward another quick finish, listing the fight at 1.5 rounds with the under favored at -450 and the over returning +350. Those odds make Steveson one of the biggest favorites on the entire UFC 329 card and show just how dominant oddsmakers expect the former WWE star to be against Ellison.

The former WWE prospect has already built a 3-0 professional MMA record, with every victory ending by first-round knockout or technical knockout. Steveson made his professional debut against Braden Peterson at LFA 217 on September 12, 2025. He wasted no time introducing himself to the MMA world, finishing Peterson by TKO just 1:38 into the opening round.

He picked up another first-round stoppage in early 2026 before facing Hugo Lezama at an MFL event on May 30. Steveson once again handled business quickly, scoring another TKO and pushing his record to 3-0.

That destructive run explains the lopsided betting line. Steveson has yet to see a second round as a professional, and his elite wrestling background gives him a massive advantage before the striking even comes into play.

Before moving into MMA, Steveson was one of the most decorated amateur wrestlers in the world. He won an Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Tokyo Games and captured two NCAA heavyweight championships while competing for the University of Minnesota.

WWE signed Steveson in 2021 and immediately presented him as a major future star. He was drafted to Monday Night RAW before wrestling a single match and appeared at WrestleMania 38, where he got physical with Chad Gable.

The company spent years attempting to turn Steveson into a full-time professional wrestler, but his WWE run never gained real traction. He made his televised in-ring debut against Baron Corbin at NXT Great American Bash in July 2023, with the match ending in a double count-out.

Steveson later competed in several untelevised matches before WWE released him in May 2024. His departure ended a run filled with enormous expectations but very little meaningful television time.

MMA has been a completely different story. Steveson has looked far more comfortable using his legitimate wrestling credentials inside the cage, and three straight first-round finishes have quickly turned him into a heavyweight prospect worth watching.

Now, the former WWE star gets his biggest platform yet. Steveson will compete on the same card as McGregor’s long-awaited comeback, giving him a chance to introduce himself to a much larger audience.

The betting odds say anything less than another dominant victory would be a major shock. Steveson is expected to run through Ellison, remain undefeated and continue proving that leaving WWE may have been the best move of his career.

Do you think Gable Steveson scores another first-round knockout at UFC 329, or is he being badly overvalued at -1800? Leave your feedback in the comments.
