Tommy Dreamer is getting dragged by some names after his TNA exit, but Michael Elgin is not jumping on that train.

Elgin took to Twitter and said his own experience with Dreamer was nothing like the stories now being shared. He made it clear he can’t speak for everyone else, but from what he personally saw, Dreamer was helpful to talent and supported him when his own TNA issues came up.

“I can’t speak on what some are claiming Dreamer said to them. All I can say is I have never personally seen Dreamer be anything but helpful to talent. He was also very supportive of me when the issues with TNA arose, but he wasn’t in a top role then.”

That defense comes after Dreamer’s June 17 TNA exit opened the floodgates a bit. Referee Perch claimed Dreamer once told him backstage at a TNA show that he would make sure he never got a job in wrestling.

“Tommy Dreamer pulled me aside backstage at a TNA show, telling me he would do everything he could to make sure I don’t earn a job in the wrestling business. All I did was try to learn and grow from experiences, though his words were very discouraging for a young student to hear.”

Carlie Bravo also claimed Dreamer praised his talent but said he did not know how to market him as a “cocky black guy.” Bravo later made it clear that did not stop him from becoming who he is today.

“He told me I was very talented but couldn’t hire me cuz ‘he didn’t know if he could market ‘cocky black guy’ to the world’. Needless to say, I’m on top of the game and never changed one bit.”

Kennedi Copeland added her own story too, saying she once wanted to take a cane shot in a match with Dreamer, but he allegedly said he did not do that with women and they ended up doing a spanking spot instead. She later explained she was young, new, and did not feel like saying no to a veteran was really an option.

“Hol’ up are we sharing our Tommy Dreamer stories bc one time I told him I really wanted to take a cane shot in a match and he told me he doesn’t do that with women so instead we did a spanking spot bc women amirite. Because I was young and dumb and impressionable and a people pleaser and still very new in wrestling and didn’t know I could say no especially to a vet because I was always told, “If you really want it, you’d do anything for it.” ¯(ツ)/¯”

So, Dreamer’s TNA exit has turned into more than just a backstage shakeup. Some people are airing out old issues, while Elgin is now saying his personal experience with Dreamer was positive. Bottom line, Dreamer’s name is right in the middle of a messy conversation. Elgin’s comments give him some public support, but the stories coming out show this thing is not cooling down quietly.
