Dustin Rhodes isn’t holding back when it comes to defending Darby Allin, and he made that clear with a blunt response aimed at critics online.
Following the backlash surrounding Darby Allin defeating MJF to win the AEW World Championship on Dynamite Spring BreakThru, Rhodes took to social media to address fans who weren’t happy with the outcome. Instead of staying quiet, he directly called out the online reaction and told critics to move on.
“Darby is your Champion!!! Get over yourselves, IWC!!!”
Rhodes didn’t stop there. After one fan pushed back and claimed the IWC represents the fanbase, Rhodes fired off another response that made his stance even clearer. The fan wrote that the IWC includes real fans and questioned why supporters should accept what they viewed as bad booking. Rhodes responded with another message that doubled down on his position.
“Wrong! I know my real fans, IWC dirt sheet , basements dwellers are not. Try again”
Rhodes’ comments came as debate continued to grow over the way Darby Allin defeated MJF for the title. While the victory marked the biggest moment of Allin’s career, much of the conversation online has focused on how dominant the finish appeared and whether MJF was protected enough in defeat.
Rhodes’ decision to jump into the conversation shows that the backlash hasn’t gone unnoticed by AEW veterans. Instead of ignoring the criticism, he took a direct shot at those voicing complaints, making it clear where he stands on the situation.
With Darby Allin now holding the AEW World Championship, the reaction from fans — and now wrestlers — suggests the fallout from the title change is far from over.
