Drew McIntyre has apparently found the perfect role for his WWE comeback — Sin Cara. After reports surfaced that WWE has discussed bringing the masked character back with a new wrestler, McIntyre wasted absolutely no time throwing his 285-pound hat into the ring.

McIntyre reacted to the Sin Cara report on Twitter by reposting the recent video of himself pulling off a flying arm drag during training. His message was short and pretty hard to misunderstand.

“I’m ready.”

The joke couldn’t have been timed much better. Just one day earlier, McIntyre had surprised fans by climbing to the top rope and busting out the high-flying move while continuing to prepare for his eventual WWE return. After landing the flying arm drag, Drew jumped back to his feet and yelled “Olé!” He then joked on Instagram about suddenly adding some lucha libre to his arsenal.

“Who said I can’t do Lucha?! Seguimos juntos, @chivas! 🐐”

Now he’s putting that newfound lucha experience to good use by jokingly volunteering for WWE’s latest idea. According to PWInsider, there have been early pitches within the company to resurrect the Sin Cara character with somebody new underneath the mask.

Nothing has been finalized, and there’s currently no word on who WWE might actually have in mind. The report only noted that the idea has been pitched, so McIntyre’s post appears to be him having some fun with the timing rather than any indication he’s seriously being considered for the role.

There’s another interesting wrinkle to the story because the previous Sin Cara recently said he’d gladly put the mask back on himself. Speaking to TMZ’s Inside the Ring in September, he revealed that another WWE run is something he’s genuinely thought about.

“For me, I wouldn’t mind coming back. If they would ask me or we would talk, ‘Hey, you want to portray Sin Cara again?’ I would love to do that definitely again and give it another shot.”

For now, WWE hasn’t even committed to bringing Sin Cara back, let alone revealed who could end up underneath the mask. McIntyre, however, has already made his pitch — and apparently one flying arm drag was all the qualification he needed.

McIntyre’s response probably isn’t going to end with him showing up under the Sin Cara mask, but it does make his sudden lucha experiment a whole lot funnier. If nothing else, Drew clearly knows how to have some fun with WWE rumors while he’s preparing to get back in the ring.
