Drew McIntyre keeps dropping hints about what fans can expect when he finally gets back in a WWE ring, and his latest training footage might be the strongest one yet. This time, it’s not about pulling off one flashy move — Drew looks noticeably quicker while bringing some familiar weapons back into his arsenal.

McIntyre took to Twitter and uploaded another training video as he continues preparing for his WWE return. The former WWE Champion showed off a much faster pace during the session, working through moves including shoulder tackles and big boots that fans haven’t seen him regularly break out in quite some time. Drew didn’t need a long caption to explain where his head is at either.

“Complete control.”

The footage continues what has become a pretty interesting theme throughout McIntyre’s time away. Despite currently weighing around 285 pounds, he’s been putting a serious amount of work into his conditioning, agility and movement rather than simply maintaining the powerhouse style fans already know him for.

That was already apparent on October 21 when Drew shocked fans by climbing to the top rope during training and hitting a flying arm drag. After landing it, he immediately popped back up and yelled “Olé!” before joking that he apparently can do lucha after all. None of this appears accidental either. McIntyre previously told Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT that his time away has allowed him to reach a level physically that he hasn’t experienced in years, particularly when it comes to his agility and conditioning.

“I’ve been working real hard in a way that my cardio and agility is, I’d say my whole life, but really for sure the past 12 years, is right now the best I’ve been. Like I feel great agility-wise. Bigger than I’ve ever been. I’m moving better than I have.”

McIntyre also revealed that watching old footage reminded him of offense he had basically abandoned over the years. Instead of leaving those moves in the past, he started thinking about stealing from the younger version of himself.

“I’ve got a feeling some of my offense is going to be unique. I saw some videos of myself people had sent me, were highlight videos, and I was like, I didn’t realize I did that. Guess I’m going to start stealing for myself.”

There’s still no word on exactly when McIntyre will wrestle again after being away since WrestleMania 42. What his latest footage does show is that Drew isn’t simply waiting around for the call — he’s using the time to get faster, revisit pieces of his old moveset and make sure the version that eventually walks back through WWE’s doors isn’t exactly the same one that left.

How different do you think Drew McIntyre’s in-ring style will actually look when he finally makes his WWE return? Let us know what you think in the comments.
