Drew McIntyre got emotional while talking about just how quickly life can change, and the death of PAC was one of the examples that immediately came to mind.

During his appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast, McIntyre spoke about learning to appreciate life after dealing with major losses of his own. The conversation turned to how easy it can be to waste energy arguing over things that ultimately do not matter.

Drew said life is simply too short to get caught up in meaningless problems, especially when everything can change without warning.

That is when he brought up Benjamin Satterley, better known to wrestling fans as PAC, who died at 40 years old on September 27.

“We just lost Ben the other day and that’s how quick it can happen.”

McIntyre then explained how someone can have their entire future mapped out and suddenly have everything ripped away in an instant.

“Like you’ve built your future, everything seems perfect and boom, your whole world just changes like that.”

The comment came during a much larger conversation about Drew losing family members, dealing with grief and learning not to take the people around him for granted. PAC’s death hit the wrestling world particularly hard because of how suddenly it happened. Satterley had wrestled at AEW All Out the night before his death, making his passing even more difficult for many wrestlers and fans to process. He was later found unresponsive inside a rental vehicle in Des Plaines, Illinois, with emergency crews responding before he was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. Weeks later, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that PAC died from bronchial asthma, with his manner of death ruled natural.

McIntyre and PAC also had history long before either man became an international wrestling star. Drew previously recalled working shows with Satterley in the United Kingdom during 2006 and 2007 and being blown away by what he could already do in the ring. McIntyre said he used to tell PAC that he would be the one to break through and become a major star from the UK, only for PAC to tell Drew that he believed McIntyre would be the one to do it.

That history makes Drew’s comments about Satterley’s death hit even harder. This was not simply another wrestler reacting to bad news. McIntyre knew PAC before the championships, major promotions and worldwide success, and watching someone from that part of his journey disappear so suddenly clearly reinforced the perspective Drew was trying to explain.

PAC’s death has already led to tributes across wrestling, including WWE opening RAW with a memorial graphic and countless wrestlers sharing memories of Satterley. For McIntyre, the loss also served as another harsh reminder that plans, careers and everyday arguments can become meaningless in a matter of seconds.

Drew has been through enough personal loss to know how quickly life can turn upside down, and PAC’s sudden death clearly brought that lesson right back to the surface. His message was simple: enjoy the time you have, stop wasting it on things that do not matter and appreciate the people around you while they are still here.

What do you make of Drew McIntyre’s comments about PAC and how quickly life can change? Did his words hit differently knowing the history the two shared before they became major wrestling stars? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
