Daniel Garcia’s exit from AEW Redemption turned into a mess after he appeared to slap phones out of two separate fans’ hands while the Death Riders made their way through the crowd.
Footage obtained by Ringside News shows Claudio Castagnoli, Garcia and the rest of the group leaving through the audience at the Bell Centre in Montreal following the match. That is when Garcia appeared to lose his cool.
The first incident involved a fan wearing a blue shirt. Garcia could be seen stopping near the barricade after appearing to knock a phone from a fan’s hand. Garcia and the man then exchanged words for several seconds. There is no clear audio of the conversation, so it is not known what the fan said or what caused Garcia to stop. However, Garcia looked visibly angry when he finally turned away. That is when the second incident went down.
A fan wearing a red jersey was leaning over a nearby balcony while recording the situation. Garcia reached up and appeared to slap the phone directly out of the fan’s hand before continuing toward the exit. The phone fell into the area below, but the story did not end there.
Jon Moxley passed through moments later, noticed the phone on the ground and turned around. Moxley picked it up and handed it back to the fan before continuing with the rest of the Death Riders.
Garcia may have had a reason to be heated, but slapping two phones away only made the situation explode even more. Moxley somehow ended up playing cleanup crew, returning the second fan’s phone while Garcia kept moving.
