Dakota Kai is stepping into a new chapter as Charlie, but even she knows the new name might not be finished yet.
While speaking to Ring The Belle, the former WWE Superstar was introduced as Dakota Kai, “now known as Charlie,” and the conversation quickly turned to her new identity. Charlie made it clear that she hears the fan chatter about the name sounding incomplete, and she is not exactly fighting it.
“I’m here. I feel like I need to — I keep hearing people say I need to add a last name because Charlie by itself, and I agree. I agree. But I can’t just be like, ‘Okay, I’m Charlie Brooks.’ You know what I mean? It has to be something. So yeah, I hear you. And I understand that by itself, it sounds very like…”
The host told her that they liked the name, and Charlie explained that the name is not random. It actually comes from her real life, but the full presentation is still being figured out.
“It is my actual nickname. You know what I mean? It’s under construction, like Charlie.”
Later in the interview, the topic came up again after Charlie talked about her new looks since returning to the ring outside WWE. She joked that the name issue might be handled the next time she talks to Ring The Belle.
“I’ll have a last name next time we talk.”
When asked if she was really going to do that, Charlie didn’t fully commit.
“We’ll see. We’ll see.”
Charlie has already worked matches since leaving WWE, including bouts against Kris Statlander and Shotzi. She also made it clear that this new run is about having fun, chasing fresh matchups, and finding out where the road takes her. For now, Charlie is the name, but it sounds like the full package is still being built. Whether she keeps it simple or adds a last name, fans are clearly watching to see what Dakota Kai’s next chapter becomes.
What do you think Charlie should use as her full wrestling name? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
