D-Von Dudley is telling a story that’s hard to top—and it starts with an entitled fan refusing to respect a basic boundary in a bathroom, and ends with Dudley admitting he deliberately peed on his own hand before going through with a handshake.
Speaking on the Duke Loves Wrestling podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer didn’t try to defend what he did, making it clear this came from a very different time in his life. According to Dudley, the moment took place after a fan approached him in a Denny’s restroom while he was in the middle of using it—and refused to back off. He began by setting the scene, explaining where he was and who he was with before the situation escalated.
“I had a guy come to me—I’ll never forget it. I’m in Buffalo, and I was a little crazy, so to speak. We were in Buffalo at a Denny’s—the one by the airport. Me, Bubba, and—I’d like to say Big Dick Dudley. I think it might have been ECW, but I don’t think it was. I think it was WWE, because if it was WWE, then it wasn’t Big Dick Dudley, because he had passed. So I’m trying to think of who it was, but anyway, it doesn’t matter.”
Dudley then walked through how a normal post-meal moment turned into something far more uncomfortable when he stepped away to use the restroom. The situation escalated when the fan pushed for a handshake despite being told it wasn’t the right time, refusing to take no for an answer.
“We’re done eating, and I’m going to pay my bill. So I go—I paid my bill first. Then Bubba and whoever else was with us were paying after me. I said, ‘I’ll be right back—I’m going to the bathroom.’ I go to the bathroom, and as I’m in there—like Booker—I’m taking a leak, and some guy comes over and goes, ‘D-Von Dudley, right?’ I go, ‘Yes, how you doing?’ And, you know, I gave him a little smirk and then went back to doing what I was doing. “He goes, ‘Man, I just want to shake your hand,’ and he holds his hand out. And I look at him and go, ‘Dude, I’m taking a piss.’ He goes, ‘I don’t care, I just want to shake your hand.’ So I made it—unfortunately, again, I’m not saying it was right, because it wasn’t. I was crazy back then—not the D-Von you see now. No way, no how—I would never do this.”
That’s when D-Von Dudley made the decision that turned the encounter into something unforgettable—and something he now openly admits he regrets.
“I peed on my hand. I said, ‘Okay, here you go, boss,’ and I shook his hand. He just went, ‘Oh man, I’m never going to wash this hand.’ I was like, ‘Bro, I think you should—trust me.’ Because I did it because I didn’t think he would actually do it—but he did it.”
Looking back, Dudley used the story to point out how far some fans will go, even in situations where boundaries should be obvious. He explained that even under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t be comfortable with that kind of interaction.
“You know, listen—I don’t want to shake anybody’s hand. If I know you and see you walking into the bathroom and you’re taking a piss, I ain’t shaking your hand—even after you wash your hands. I don’t know how good you washed them, you know. But this guy apparently didn’t care, and I was like, ‘Alright.’”
He also revealed how Bubba Ray Dudley reacted when he told him what happened, summing up the situation in a blunt exchange.
“And I told Bubba—he just went, ‘People are just sick.’ I go, ‘Yeah, they are—absolutely nuts. Absolutely nuts.’”
Dudley made it clear this isn’t something he’s proud of and not something he’d ever do today, but the story stands as a reminder of how extreme fan entitlement can get—and how unpredictable those encounters can become in real time.
