MJF has been feuding with Mistico in both AEW as well as CMLL over the past couple of months and he took things too far last week at Arena Mexico. Fans were furious and it appears CMLL allegedly had a getaway car for MJF after the show.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, CMLL had a “getaway car” prepared for MJF after his really heated angle where he spat on Místico’s mask and covered him with an American flag.

“CMLL had a “getaway car” ready for MJF following his heated angle where he spat on Místico’s mask and buried him under an American flag.”

Last week, MJF returned to Arena Mexico and retained his CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship against Zandokan Jr. Afterwards, Místico issued a challenge for the World Light Heavyweight title on September 19, but MJF turned down the offer unless Místico placed his mask on the line, and the match was agreed to. MJF made it clear, mentioning he is not putting his hair on the line.

MJF entered the ring to shake his hand, which Místico accepted, but it was a trick as the champion hit Místico with his belt. Afterwards, MJF removed the mask of Místico and wore it as he delivered a Tombstone and then placed an American flag over the fallen Místico.

This made a ton of people furious and obviously, it’s a known fact that people in Mexico take wrestling far more seriously and seeing how he disrespected Místico, it’s not a big surprise CMLL just wanted MJF to be safe.

This comes after a fan tried to attack MJF at a hotel following his controversial angle with Místico at AEW Grand Slam: Mexico. Regardless, CMLL is still thrilled with how MJF and Místico’s feud is building up and now we’ll have to see who will win the mask vs. title match for CMLL’s 91st Aniversario card next month.

Do you think MJF is taking things too far with his disrespectful antics, or is he doing exactly what a great heel should do? Sound off in the comments.
