The April 20 WWE RAW went down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With so much WrestleMania fallout, CM Punk was destined for a spotlight.
CM Punk lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42, and that was a big way to close the show of shows. This week on RAW, Punk had something to say.
Punk started his promo speaking about how he’s experienced loss in recent memory. He mentioned his dog, Larry, and so many WWE staffers who passed away over the last few months. Then he encouraged fans to cheer for those who lost.
CM Punk said that his WrestleMania loss stung a bit more. He said that being World Heavyweight Champion helped him get through the grief. Fans helped him get through all those losses, and “something tells me that you’ll get me through my loss last night.”
Punk said that even though he lost last night, he’s still the best in the world, so he’s got a skip to his step. He stood tall on the brightest lights of the biggest stage in WWE, but it just wasn’t his night. Punk said that he’s not going to sulk or go on vacation, because you never know when a championship opportunity will fall out of the sky.
When Cody Rhodes came out with his eye busted up from Randy Orton’s punt. Punk asked if he went over his time, and then Cody told him not to leave, because RAW is Punk’s time, and then Punk asked if Cody thought he was going to “crash out.” Then Cody honestly answered, “yeah.”
Cody Rhodes mispoke when he said something about how he should feel like a loser. Punk said that he is a loser, but it’s okay. Then Punk said that he’s going to stay ready, before he left the ring. Cody Rhodes grabbed the mic and said, “just say when.” That was quite a conclusion to the segment.
