Chelsea Green picked up an injury during Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, putting her status in question just days after winning the interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

Green teamed with Tiffany Stratton against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid on SmackDown, with Green taking the pin after Henley and Reid hit their Rolling Encore finish. Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez later reported that Green was injured during the match, although the exact nature of the injury is not known at this point.

“Chelsea Green was injured during the match on SmackDown last night. We don’t know the exact injury at this point but hopefully she won’t be out of action too long.”

Things didn’t get any easier for Green after the bell, as Lash Legend and Nia Jax attacked both Green and Stratton following the match.

The timing is especially rough considering Green just won the interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2026 in a ladder match that also featured Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. She also wrestled at WWE’s Thursday house show in Fairfax, Virginia, teaming with Flair and Stratton in a win over Fatal Influence.

There is no word yet on how serious Green’s injury is or whether she will be forced to miss any time, but the hope is that she won’t be sidelined for long. Ringside News will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
