The August 7 edition of WWE SmackDown was Chelsea Green’s first chance to show off as Interim Women’s Champion. She did not miss that opportunity in the slightest.
Chelsea Green pulled off the biggest win of her career at SummerSlam as she became the Intermin Women’s Champion. During SmackDown this week, she had a chance to celebrate.
WWE decked the ring out in party favors, balloons, and a red carpet. They also had fireworks ready for Chelsea Green as she got in the ring to pose with her new title. Fans chanted, “You deserve it” and Chelsea said how much she appreciated how fans stuck with her to pledge their allegiance.
She thanked a lot of people, and then she brought out Tiffany Stratton. The Women’s United States Champion made her way out to join Chelsea’s celebration. Green apologized for what happened on Sunday, but their friendship is stronger than that. So, she was out to toast strong female friendship. Before Tiffany could say anything, Fatal Influence made their way out.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions flanked Jacy Jayne, and she wasn’t happy about not being a champion. They didn’t like having a Hot Mess as champion. However, Jacy turned her attention to Tiffany Stratton. She agreed to a US Title match next week if they agreed to a Women’s Tag Team Title match, which they accepted. It seems that the women’s division is full of competition, and nobody is backing down.
Fatal Influence won that match thanks to Nia Jax and Lash Legend getting involved. Chelsea Green took the pin after taking Fatal Influence’s finisher. After that, Nia Jax and Lash Legend got the Women’s Title. Then Jax posed over Chelsea Green as she was lying out after the match. This was probably not the way that she expected her reign to begin.
