Chelsea Green has dealt with multiple health setbacks, but she still found a way to stay on WWE television.

Green was previously sidelined with an ankle injury and also underwent a procedure for S.V.T., but WWE continued using her on TV during her recovery. She has since returned to regular in-ring competition, including competing on the June 8 episode of RAW.

While speaking to the Toronto Sun, Green was asked how she managed to remain part of WWE programming even while legitimately injured. Green said she feels lucky, but also believes she found the exact role WWE needed from her: “I feel very lucky.” Green explained that whenever she is injured, she still finds a way back onto TV because her character brings something different to the show.

“I feel like every time they try to kick me off TV for an injury, or something legitimately happens, I sneak my little way back in there. I think the thing is—it is a variety show, and I found that niche. I found the mic skills they need or the comedic relief that they need.”

She added that WWE needs some ridiculousness every week to balance out the wrestling. Green said she is happy she found that lane, joking that she has been able to “abuse the system” because WWE keeps asking her to appear even when she is hurt.

“So, at the end of the day, we do need that little bit of ridiculousness on TV every week, you know, to break up the kind of monotony of amazing wrestling. So I’m happy that I found that niche, and I’m able to kind of abuse the system in that way because they always ask me—even if I’m off with an injury—to come do something. So, I’m very, very blessed.”

Chelsea Green’s latest comments show why WWE kept her visible even during her recovery. Whether she is wrestling, cutting promos, or adding comedy to a segment, Green has carved out a role that keeps her valuable even when she is not fully cleared.
