Carmelo Hayes didn’t waste any time responding after Baron Corbin walked out of SummerSlam as the new United States Champion.
Instead of posting a lengthy message, Hayes let one image do all the talking. Just hours after Corbin defeated Trick Williams to capture the United States Championship, Hayes shared artwork heavily inspired by Eminem’s iconic Killshot cover, the diss track aimed at Machine Gun Kelly.
The image features Corbin’s face locked inside a sniper scope with X’s over his eyes, making it crystal clear who Hayes has in his sights next. Hayes added nothing more than a devil emoji, letting the artwork send the message.
Corbin captured the United States Championship by defeating Trick Williams on Night Two of SummerSlam. Lil Yachty tried to swing the momentum in Williams’ favor during the match, but it wasn’t enough to stop Corbin, who blasted Williams with the End of Days to begin his second run in WWE with championship gold.
Hayes isn’t exactly a random challenger either. Corbin’s return to WWE began by attacking both Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, immediately putting himself on the radar of two of SmackDown’s biggest stars.
Now that Corbin is holding the United States Championship, Hayes appears ready to settle that score. If the Kill Shot-inspired artwork is any indication, Melo isn’t interested in congratulating the new champion—he’s calling him out.
