Bronson Reed is officially back in WWE, and he came back swinging. Reed made his surprise return during WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event and immediately wrecked Oba Femi during his match with Bron Breakker.
Oba looked like he was closing in on the win after avoiding a brass-knuckle shot from Breakker, but Reed suddenly hit the ring and smashed Oba with a steel chair to trigger the disqualification. Reed kept unloading on him before climbing to the top rope and crushing him with a Tsunami.
That was just the start. Breakker and Reed embraced after the attack, making it clear Reed was back on his side. Breakker then drilled Oba with another spear while Reed kept going back upstairs for more Tsunamis, with officials at ringside unable to stop the beating.
Reed’s return ends more than six months away after he tore the distal biceps in his right arm during the February 23 episode of RAW and underwent surgery. There had already been plenty of signs that his comeback was close, including a recent trip to WWE Headquarters where he filmed promotional material and worked on merchandise concepts.
Ringside News had also previously noted that Reed was expected back on RAW sometime in September, while WWE had discussed a potential program between Reed and Oba Femi for later this year. After what happened on Sunday Night’s Main Event, that feud may have just started in the most violent way possible.
Bronson Reed didn’t get a slow comeback or some backstage return segment. He came back with a chair, multiple Tsunamis and Bron Breakker standing beside him while Oba Femi was left destroyed in the ring. WWE clearly wanted Reed’s return to hit hard, and it did.
