Bronson Reed’s time on the sidelines after a bicep injury may finally be running out. WWE is preparing for his return, and there are already plans for him to come back as a main event-level heel.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Reed’s name has started popping up internally again over the past several weeks, with multiple signs pointing toward his return being on the horizon.
“WrestleVotes Radio is told that Bronson Reed’s name has been making waves internally over the past several weeks. Multiple indications point towards his return being on the horizon.”
Things apparently got even more interesting after checking with a source inside WWE’s promotional merchandising department. Reed’s name has recently surfaced there in a way that suggests WWE is actively getting things ready for him.
“After speaking with a source inside the company’s promotional merchandising department, WV has learned that Reed’s name has recently surfaced in a way that has caught our attention and strongly suggests that WWE is preparing for his return.”
That doesn’t mean Reed is suddenly walking through the curtain on the next RAW. WrestleVotes Radio specifically noted that they weren’t told he is only days away. But he apparently isn’t far off either.
“While we’re not told that Reed is necessarily days away, the expectation is that Reed will be back before long.”
Then comes the considerably bigger part. WWE isn’t planning to bring Reed back just to put him right where he was before the injury. The expectation is that he’ll return as a key main event-level heel, with plans to keep moving him further up the card.
“According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Reed is set to return as a key main event level heel, with the intention being for him to keep elevating up the card once he’s back.”
There could already be a pretty gigantic feud waiting for him too. The same source claimed WWE has had Reed’s return earmarked for months, with a potential program against Oba Femi discussed for later this year.
“That same source also noted that Reed’s return is something that the company has earmarked for a number of months with the potential for a program with Oba Femi later this year.”
Reed has been gone since suffering a torn distal biceps in his right arm during a February episode of RAW. Before going down, he was rolling with The Vision alongside Logan Paul and Austin Theory, but his injury brought that momentum to an abrupt stop. He certainly hasn’t looked like someone planning to come back quietly.
Back in May, Reed showed off a noticeably bigger and more shredded physique while recovering and dropped a pretty simple message alongside it. Now WWE apparently has its own plans for what happens when he gets back.
No exact return date yet. No indication he’s showing up within days. But Reed’s name is surfacing internally, the company appears to be preparing for him, and a main event heel push with Oba Femi potentially waiting down the road sounds like considerably more than a routine return from injury. Bronson Reed has spent months getting ready. WWE may finally be getting ready for him too.
