The July 27 episode of WWE RAW went down at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. As RAW returned to the site of its historic Netflix debut, fans were expecting a memorable night.
Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi are set to tear each other apart in Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. This week on RAW, the night opened up with the company lowering that demonic structure down from the rafters. Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi were in the house for a weigh-in, and the cameras followed each of them from the backstage area, a really nice touch that added to the drama.
Fans chanted Oba Femi’s name as he strutted to the ring. This was an intense situation as Triple H and Adam Pearce welcomed Oba. Then he stood on the scale to weigh in at 302 pounds of pure Nigerian muscle.
Brock Lesnar made his way to the ring next to join Oba Femi, but he didn’t get in the cell. Instead, Brock locked Oba in the structure and refused to go in. Paul Heyman said that we have a change of plans, because allowing Brock Lesnar in Hell in a Cell isn’t a good idea. Heyman continued to hype Lesnar from there, even though his microphone started cutting out on him.
The microphone kept cutting out on Paul Heyman, and the camera didn’t even show him as it remained on Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar having a standoff through the cell.
Paul Heyman then revealed that Brock Lesnar weighs in at 303 pounds, because he stood on a scale in the back. Then, Brock Lesnar grabbed the microphone and simply said, “I’ll see you at SummerSlam, bitch.”
Oba Femi answered by saying that Saturday is coming, and so is Hell in a Cell. “No matter how free you think you are, again, I am not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.” After Brock Lesnar left, Oba Femi took out all of the security guards that were in the ring out of frustration.
We will have to see what happens at SummerSlam. Hell in a Cell is going to be a brutal encounter. It may also put a bow on Brock Lensar and Oba Femi’s story.
