Brie Bella may have just lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but she’s already looking ahead to what she hopes will be the final chapter of her wrestling career.
Speaking on The Sal Licata Show following Saturday Night’s Main Event, Brie admitted she still wants one more singles run before she retires—and ideally, she’d like one last chance to compete for championship gold and go after either the Women’s United States Title or Women’s Intercontinental Title.
“But I would love to do a singles run. I would love to go for one of the titles. Whatever title that I could fit into. I mean, I think that’s the way you end it.”
The comments came just days after Brie and Paige dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Fatal Influence at Madison Square Garden, ending a partnership that only came together because Nikki Bella was forced out with a broken ankle ahead of WrestleMania.
Looking back, Brie admitted she was crushed when Nikki’s injury changed WWE’s original plans. Even though the tag team run has now come to an end, Brie said she’s grateful it happened and praised Paige for stepping in when everything changed.
“I was really bummed out when Nikki broke her ankle, especially it was two weeks before WrestleMania. I was like, ‘Oh, no.’ But then having Paige step in, being my tag partner, ’cause we’ve been like sisters. It’s crazy. With WWE, you’re always going to be part of this family. But Paige, we go way back. Been blessed with that. I would love that. You know, like being with Paige has been one of the greatest blessings.”
Now, with the tag titles no longer around her waist, Brie has made it clear what she wants next. Before she walks away from wrestling for good, she’s hoping WWE gives her one final opportunity to chase singles gold.
