Brie Bella says WWE had different plans for her and Paige during the recent European SmackDown tapings.

During the May 29 episode of SmackDown in Barcelona, Brie and Paige were interviewed backstage by Cathy Kelley before Fatal Influence interrupted them. Jacy Jayne questioned why the champions were getting attention, Lainey Reid warned them about losing their titles, and the group made it clear they were coming for them.

Then, during the June 5 episode of SmackDown in Bologna, Fatal Influence once again crossed paths with Brie and Paige. After Brie reminded Jacy that she had lost earlier in the night, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid attacked from behind, leading to a backstage brawl that ended with Fatal Influence standing tall.

However, while speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie Bella revealed that she and Paige were actually disappointed they didn’t get to wrestle or appear in front of the live crowd during the Europe shows.

“But, you know, we obviously start off my trip in Barcelona for Friday Night SmackDown. I will tell you all, Paige and I were very sad not to wrestle in front of you in Spain or actually be out there. You know, we had a backstage, which was still really good. Fatal Influence, those are some naughty girls. But, you know, we’re going to have our, you know, we get them now. So we got a little taste of their medicine. They’re going to get right back. But I will say Paige and I were so sad not to be out in the crowds.”

Brie then revealed that she and Paige thought they had a match on the following SmackDown, but that plan changed. She said they even asked if they could go out to the crowd and cut a promo, because the original plan had them appearing in the arena before it was changed at the last minute.

“And then the Friday, the SmackDown after, Paige and I thought we had a match and then we didn’t. And we were so sad. We’re like, can we please walk out to the crowd and cut a promo and do all that, which actually we originally were supposed to be out in the crowd and do this thing out in the arena. And last minute it got switched. We were so bummed. I was like, how is it that I’m in Europe and I did not once walk out to any of those fabulous high-energy crowds?”

Brie’s comments make it clear that she and Paige wanted more from WWE’s European shows than backstage segments. While their feud with Fatal Influence still moved forward, the champions were clearly frustrated that they never got the chance to feel those live crowds in Spain or Italy. For now, Brie and Paige still have unfinished business with Fatal Influence, and based on Brie’s comments, they are ready to give the group a receipt after the recent attacks.
