AEW has revealed how the July 11 edition of Collision will begin, and Tony Khan is bringing back one of the company’s biggest stars to kick off the show.
After already announcing three championship matches for Collision, Khan confirmed that “Hangman” Adam Page will open the broadcast live from Roanoke, Virginia.
The appearance marks Hangman’s first AEW appearance since Revolution in March, making his return one of the biggest attractions on Saturday night’s show. Khan made the announcement on social media while revealing the opening segment. He also pointed out why the location makes the return even more meaningful.
“Hangman Page will kick off AEW Collision LIVE in Roanoke, VA!”
“We haven’t seen Hangman since Revolution in March, & he returns to AEW to open Collision LIVE in his home state Virginia TOMORROW!”
Collision is already stacked with championship matches. Hikaru Shida will defend the TBS Championship against Harley Cameron, Mark Davis will put the AEW National Championship on the line against “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Bandido will defend the ROH World Championship against Katsuyori Shibata.
Now fans know exactly how the show will begin. Hangman’s absence has lasted several months, so all eyes will be on what he has to say when he opens Collision. Whether he addresses his future, targets a new rival or immediately jumps into a storyline remains to be seen, but AEW has made it clear he will be the first person fans see when the show goes live.
