Fans thought Becky Lynch may have gone into business for herself during the August 3, 2026 edition of RAW. Turns out, WWE knew exactly what she was going to say.
After Netflix quietly edited Becky Lynch’s shot at Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio out of the August 3 episode of RAW, plenty of fans assumed she’d gone off script and WWE was cleaning up the replay afterwards. According to Dave Meltzer, that’s not what happened at all. Writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that Lynch’s line had already been approved before RAW ever went on the air.
“The line Lynch gave about Morgan not even being the best wrestler to have slept with Dominik Mysterio was edited off the replays. From what we were told, the line was not Lynch going impromptu, as it was on the script and Levesque and others knew about it before she said it.”
That changes the entire story. Instead of scrambling to remove something Lynch wasn’t supposed to say, WWE reportedly edited out a line it had written into the show itself. The remark came during Lynch’s heated confrontation with Liv Morgan, when she mocked the Women’s World Champion before dropping one of the night’s most talked-about lines.
“You’re not even the greatest women’s champion to sleep with Dominik Mysterio.”
Fans watching RAW live heard it. Anyone watching later on Netflix didn’t. The edit is also the latest in a growing list of changes made to WWE’s Netflix replays. Previous episodes have blurred Bron Breakker’s blood, cut Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi’s middle-finger exchange, swapped camera angles to hide blood during Night of Champions, replaced the crowd’s “holy sh*t” chants and even toned down Raquel Rodriguez’s bloodied appearance after winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Whatever the reason for the edit, one thing’s finally clear now: Becky Lynch didn’t go rogue. WWE signed off on the line before Monday’s show even went on the air.
