Becky Lynch didn’t exactly try to hide what she did to Liv Morgan in Chile. After helping cost Morgan the WWE Women’s World Championship at WWE’s live event in Santiago on September 12, 2026, Lynch jumped on social media and basically told Liv she should have known better.
Lynch served as the special guest referee for Morgan’s title defense against Stephanie Vaquer, and the finish turned into complete chaos. Morgan hit Oblivion and appeared to have Vaquer beaten, but Lynch stopped counting at two.
Instead of slapping the mat for three, Lynch looked right at Morgan and flipped her off. That hesitation gave Vaquer the opening she needed. Vaquer fought back, hit the SVB and followed it with the Vaquer Inferno before pinning Morgan to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
Triple H later posted footage of the finish, and Lynch responded directly to it on Twitter. She didn’t apologize, explain herself or pretend the stoppage was an accident.

That pretty much says it all. Morgan didn’t just lose the championship because Vaquer caught her at the right time. Lynch had the three-count in her hands, refused to finish it and then openly mocked Morgan afterward.
The title loss ended Morgan’s 148-day reign and gave Vaquer her second run as WWE Women’s World Champion, but Lynch may have created an even bigger problem for herself in the process.
Liv now has every reason in the world to come after Lynch, and Becky doesn’t exactly sound worried about it. If anything, she seems to be enjoying the fact that she directly helped take the title away from Morgan.
