Britt Baker’s AEW return didn’t just get a big reaction from fans at All In. Backstage, the former AEW Women’s World Champion was apparently welcomed back with open arms after nearly two years away from television.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed that Britt Baker’s return went over well behind the scenes. According to Alvarez, people were genuinely happy to have her back around.
“Everybody was happy to see her in the back. You know, everyone’s in a good mood right now.”
That’s especially interesting considering just how suddenly Baker returned to the company. Sean Ross Sapp previously revealed that Baker wasn’t secretly hiding in London throughout All In week. She was still home as late as Friday, with her return only coming together at the last minute.
Baker may not have even arrived in London until the morning of All In. Sapp said he was told she potentially reached the venue around noon, so AEW managed to get her into Wembley and onto the show within hours.
Once there, Baker wasted no time making her presence matter. She appeared under a hood during Maya World’s TBS Championship defense against Persephone, shoved Maya from the ropes and helped Persephone capture the title. Baker then attacked Maya with the Lockjaw before revealing herself to the crowd.
The appearance marked Baker’s first time on AEW television since November 2024. Whatever questions surrounded Baker during her long absence, her first night back apparently didn’t come with any backstage awkwardness. If Alvarez’s account is anything to go by, Baker walked back into AEW after nearly two years away and found a locker room that was happy to see her.
