Asuka may not be officially retiring from WWE, but her latest comments definitely sounded like someone reflecting on the end of an era.

After weeks of rumors surrounding her future following WWE Backlash, Asuka finally addressed the speculation in a new video uploaded to her YouTube channel. While she confirmed she is still with WWE, some of her comments carried a surprisingly emotional tone that immediately got fans talking.

Asuka reflected on spending more than a decade with WWE and suggested her constant presence may have caused people to stop appreciating what she accomplished.

“I’ve been with WWE for over 10 years now, almost like it was just a given. And because it became such a part of your daily routine, I think my presence there just became something everyone took for granted.”

The former Women’s Champion then delivered an even heavier statement while discussing life and her future moving forward.

“But remember… nothing lasts forever. Everything is finite.”

Asuka also explained that wrestling has never been the only thing defining her identity, describing herself as both a wrestler and an artist.

“You see, I’m not just a wrestler by trade; I’m a designer too. Even the way I live my life has to be art.”

The comments come after Dave Meltzer stated WWE sources internally described Asuka as “semi-retired” while she handles family matters in Japan. However, Asuka pushed back against any idea that she is physically done inside the ring.

“But let’s be clear – as you all know from watching my matches, I can still go. I am still at the top of my game!”

Even so, Asuka openly hinted that fans may not see her nearly as often moving forward. Despite all the uncertainty, Asuka reminded everyone she remains under WWE contract and could still appear at any time.

“So from here on out, if you ever catch a glimpse of me, you better cherish it. Because it’s going to be rare. But don’t forget – I am still officially with WWE. So there’s a chance I might just pop up in front of you when you least expect it!”

Whether this turns into a full comeback later or the slow beginning of the end for one of WWE’s most decorated stars, Asuka clearly wanted fans to understand one thing — her legacy already speaks for itself.

“And because I’m a true pioneer, there will never be another Asuka!”

Asuka may be stepping away for now, but she definitely doesn’t sound ready to completely disappear. At the same time, her words felt like a reminder that fans should stop assuming legends will always be there forever.
