WWE has finally made a major internal change involving Paul Levesque, better known to wrestling fans as Triple H.
Despite officially retiring from in-ring competition years ago, Triple H had still remained listed internally as an active WWE talent until this month. According to PWInsider Elite, WWE quietly removed him from the company’s internal active roster list in May 2026.
Before the change, Triple H was listed under WWE’s “Misc” category, which is generally reserved for injured or inactive performers who are not assigned to a specific brand. The timing is surprising considering Triple H hasn’t wrestled an official match in nearly seven years.
Triple H’s final official WWE match took place at a live event in Tokyo, Japan in June 2019. Triple H teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Bobby Roode and AJ Styles. His final televised match happened earlier that same month at WWE Super ShowDown 2019 in Saudi Arabia, where he lost to Randy Orton. Triple H also wrestled what became his final WrestleMania match at WrestleMania 35 when he defeated Batista in Batista’s advertised retirement match.
There was one more physical WWE segment involving Triple H in January 2021 during his street fight confrontation with Randy Orton on Raw. However, the match never officially started. The two brawled briefly before the lights went out, and Alexa Bliss appeared and attacked Orton with a fireball as part of Orton’s storyline with Bray Wyatt.
Triple H announced his retirement from wrestling at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 following the cardiac event that changed his life and career. He later transitioned fully into his role as WWE Chief Content Officer. Even with that retirement announcement years ago, WWE apparently kept him listed internally as active until now.
Last month, Triple H also signed a new multi-year agreement to remain WWE’s Chief Content Officer, further cementing his role behind the scenes as one of the company’s most powerful figures.
For longtime fans, the quiet roster removal feels like the final official closing chapter on Triple H’s legendary in-ring career — even if that chapter technically ended years ago.
