Jeff Hardy shocked longtime fans on this week’s TNA Impact by bringing back his infamous Willow character during the ongoing feud between The Hardys and The Righteous.
The moment happened during the singles match between Matt Hardy and Vincent. Jeff Hardy and Dutch were handcuffed to the ring posts while the two rivals battled inside the ring.
Late in the match, Vincent stole the referee’s handcuff key and looked ready to take control. That’s when the lights suddenly went out inside the arena. When the lights came back on, Willow was standing directly behind Vincent in a creepy surprise reveal. Willow attacked Vincent before disappearing moments later, leaving the crowd stunned. The distraction gave Matt Hardy the opening to hit Twist of Fate and pick up the victory over Vincent.
Jeff Hardy’s Willow persona became a fan-favorite during his earlier TNA run thanks to its dark presentation and bizarre mind games. The return instantly added another strange chapter to The Hardys’ feud with The Righteous. TNA has clearly been leaning harder into the supernatural side of the storyline lately, and Willow’s return only pushed things further into chaos.
